KEPALA BATAS: Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim did nothing when he was Education Minister and he sang different tunes before different crowds, Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said. The Prime Minister agreed with Dr Chandra Muzaffar's comments on Monday about the former deputy prime minister.

PM: Nearly all of 2004 promises carried out
KUALA LUMPUR: The Barisan Nasional has carried out nearly all of its promises laid out in the coalition's manifesto in the last general election, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said. “We have been carrying out our development agenda at all times to see that the people have better lives,” he said during a gathering organised by the Barisan Nasional for Pantai Dalam residents last night. ”
Four years of success
BUTTERWORTH: The last four years have been a period of success and development, Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said. The Prime Minister said the achievements during his first full term in office included the country achieving economic growth of 6.3% last year and implementation of the regional economic development corridors.

PM pulls in crowd despite downpour
KUALA LUMPUR: Some 2,000 people braved a downpour to meet Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi at a ceramah in Lembah Pantai here last night.
Despite the rain, he was greeted by kompang, bhangra and traditional Chinese and Indian music.

PM Kicks off Election Campaign
Surrounded by a sea of BN supporters, Dato’ Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi was among the first to formally submit his nomination for the Kepala Batas parliamentary seat. The process officially marks the start of the 13-day campaign period.

For the PM, family meals are important, with fish featuring heavily. There are fewer chances these days to get together, but once or twice a week there is a cherished family meal.

He enjoys Japanese food but it is more difficult to go out for quiet meals these days. Being brought up in Penang means being partial to food of all varieties.

He reads the Quran daily following Maghrib prayers and takes notes in Jawi – his preferred shorthand.

Julius Caesar remains a firm Shakespearean favourite.

Outside of family, Tun Razak was
a very strong influence that the PM
is happy to describe as a mentor.

World events that have greatly influenced him include 9/11, driving a passion to promote a moderate, tolerant Islam.

Cars remain a keen interest. Driving however has become rare due to security needs.

Unwinding from the demands of the job may involve a rare game of golf,
a bit of yoga or spending precious time with his grandchildren.

He likes musicals – My Fair Lady still the favourite - and classic singers such as Nat King Cole. The PM owns an I-pod Nano.

He enjoys Malaysian art and is a collector of woodcarvings and canes
