Malaysia fundamentally safe and peaceful
Malaysians from all walks of life continue to lead their daily lives as they have done for years. Public disturbances are extremely rare. There have been no curfews or widespread military presence in recent memory. Malaysia remains fundamentally safe and peaceful.
As our society matures there will be a greater diversity of views. These diverse views are expressed through numerous avenues such as public 'ceramah', publications and the internet. In certain cases, some may also choose to organise gatherings or demonstrations.
As a core part of Malaysia's democracy, the BN expect to receive differing views and respect them. When communicated fairly and productively, different views can help bring new perspectives and better solutions to the countries' challenges. However, the BN does not support expressions which can incite hatred and violence. The damage caused may not be limited to the public disturbance of the gathering, but could spread to the wider public by creating tension and mistrust amongst different groups.
A BN-led government would continue to answer the concerns and aspirations of all Malaysians by actively representing and engaging with all communities. A BN-led government would continue to work with the rakyat, for the rakyat. |
