KUALA LUMPUR: The Public Service Department
is offering 200 more scholarships to enable more excellent students
to pursue their degrees overseas.
With the addition, the number of scholarships offered for this
year totals 2,000. The government expects to spend an estimated
RM1.74 billion on the scholarships. Candidates eligible for the
scholarships are Malaysian citizens, aged 17, who have achieved
excellent results in their Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia.
The selection process will be based on academic results, extra-curricular
activities, and family socio-economic background.
Students can apply online at www.jpa.gov.my after the results are
announced.
