JAYA: There is no slowing down for the big guns from the Barisan
Nasional component parties, with all of them facing hectic schedules
today.
Both Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and his deputy Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak have programmes running into the late hours of the night.
Abdullah, who is in Penang, will meet fishermen in Batu Maung and the election steering committee in Kepala Batas today.
The Prime Minister, who is the incumbent Kepala Batas MP, is also scheduled to attend a yasin recital session at the Ahmad Badawi Mosque in Kepala Batas at night and will end the day with a visit to the election operations rooms at Bertam, Penaga and Pinang Tunggal.
Najib is to launch the Tun Razak Dental Clinic at Rumah Warga Emas, Pekan, in the morning, then visits the Pekan Hospital and later, the Pahang Tua Project at Rumah Pam Pahang Tua, Pekan.
He then attends the SM Sri Damai Parent-Teacher Association meeting in Pekan and visits the “Pekan Sehari” programme at the Pekan Sehari PJ3 Site.
Later, Najib, who is defending the Pekan parliamentary seat, will attend the Moh Balik Mengundi campaign at Pekan Sehari Site and also meet the people at Kuala Pahang till late.
MCA president Datuk Seri Ong Ka Ting, too, has a packed schedule, starting with a visit to the main market in Kulai, where he is contesting the parliamentary seat.
He will then attend an Umno gathering in Bukit Permai, meet with the village head of Kampung Murni Jaya and also the imam of the Kulai mosque.
Later, he is set to attend a cultural concert in Kampung Baru Senai. At 9pm, he will attend a grand Umno gathering at Felda Taib Andak.
MIC president Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu will be visiting various areas before ending the day with a prayer session at a temple in Sungai Siput tonight.
Gerakan acting president and outgoing Penang Chief Minister Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon will be spending the day in Penang. He, too, has various programmes lined up.
